Hollywood star Jefferson Steele arrives in rural England expecting to perform King Lear at a prestigious Shakespeare festival. Instead, he finds himself in a sleepy village, face-to-face with an enthusiastic but decidedly amateur drama society. Out of his depth and horrified at the lack of glamour, Jefferson struggles to adjust – but the local thespians aren’t about to let his ego get in the way of their big production.

As rehearsals descend into chaos, clashing personalities, bruised pride, and Jefferson’s own insecurities bubble to the surface. Yet amidst the comedy and calamity, unlikely friendships are forged, and both star and society discover they have more to learn from each other than they imagined.
